Do you have an insider tip in your neighbourhood for us?

I love the Güterstrasse with its many different stores. My personal favourites are the outlet branch of Bächli, that sells mountaineering gear; La Columbiana, a coffee roastery; the restaurants and bars around the Tellplatz in the peaceful after-work atmosphere; and the silo in the Gundeldingerfeld with its panoramic terrace overlooking the Gundeli.

What does the neighbourhood mean to you personally?

The Gundeli is home to a great deal of biodiversity. There are a lot of backyards and inner courtyards, parks, tree-lined avenues, front gardens, and trees with undergrowth that people adopt and take care of. Which makes it an ideal location for my bees. And then there is my Bio Bistro, where my team and I have been helping shape the Gundeldingerfeld area for more than 20 years now.

In what way do you and your work contribute to the appeal of your neighbourhood?

With my city honey, keeping bees in this neighbourhood, I highlight the natural side of this urban city area. When people think about beekeeping, they usually associate it with the countryside. But the fact of the matter is, biodiversity in our cities is up to a third greater than in the countryside. Which is why the city is the perfect place to keep bees, because they find a wide range of food here, from spring through to autumn.

Which three adjectives best describe your neighbourhood?

Disparate, quadratic, green.
